About Me

I worked as a Paramedic for 28 years. In that time I went off work for close to two years, with a diagnosis of PTSD. I went from caregiver to patient. That was a hard pill to swallow. First responders walk that line every shift. This is why self-care, self-awareness, and healthy coping skills are so important.

​

Bit of a back story... There was a buildup over the years. I had no healthy permanent coping mechanisms. I had no clue what coping mechanisms were. I kept packing everything in, with my personal life and work life, not dealing with anything. This is why I ended up on a 14th floor balcony and contemplated jumping to end all the pain, guilt and hurt I couldn't escape from. That thought alone was the start of my road to recovery.

A Safe Place to Learn and Grow

This website is to provide awareness among my community of EMS professionals so that my story hopefully doesn't happen to you or someone you love. 

 

I was beyond lucky to make a full recovery. I had and still have an amazing support system.

 

You are not alone.

How I Can Help You

Sharing my knowledge on how to become the person you want to be.

Offering guidance for people that have no idea where to start or what mindfulness even is.

I'm here to provide guidance and information to groups or individuals.  I especially enjoy speaking to 1st and 2nd year paramedic students across Ontario.  Get in touch to discuss both in-person or virtual options. 

​

After what I've gone through and I know others are suffering with, I can't keep it to myself.  I am passionate about sharing what helped me to get to this point in my life, including:

  • Tips and tricks to make mindfulness a part of people's lives.

  • The basics to a mindfulness path for those that have no idea how or what it is.

  • Practical strategies to ground yourself, taking advantage of nature that is all around.

I'm here to provide a safe place to share and grow.

​

You should work with me if you are willing to dive deep within yourself and get back to basics such as:

  • Morning routines.

  • Mindset conversations to help realize you have everything you need to heal yourself.

  • Prioritizing self-care and making habits such as spending alone time in nature, journalling, or whatever suits you. 

 

We just need to take the leap and look at our so-called dark moments. Take your power back from them, and get rid of the fear.
